From A Maryland Mother On Sports

As a mother of three, with two daughters, I believe it is critical to ensure that all athletes have a fair and level playing field.

Dear Maryland Lawmakers,

I am writing to express my strong support for the sex-based rights of female athletes, and to urge you to prioritize these rights when considering policies related to sports. As a resident of Maryland, I am proud to support feminist efforts to protect women's rights in sports.

As a mother of three, with two daughters, I believe it is critical to ensure that all athletes have a fair and level playing field. Women and girls have fought hard for the right to compete in sports on an equal footing, and it is important to protect these gains. Allowing male athletes to compete in women's sports unfairly advantages them over their female competitors, and undermines the integrity of women's sports.

I believe that sex-based rights are essential to ensure that women and girls are able to participate in sports with dignity, respect, and equality. It is not discriminatory to ensure that women's sports remain reserved for female athletes, and I urge you to take a stand for women's rights in this area.

I ask that you take women’s rights and concerns into consideration when making decisions related to sports and athletics in Maryland.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Sara K.
