The funniest possible take on Ms. Beck’s testimony came from Chris Johnson, of the Washington Blade, describing her as a “former lesbian activist.” We are confident in stating that the adjective “former,” in that sentence, is inaccurate on its face, regardless of the noun it was intended to modify:

Chris Johnson, of the Washington Blade, writes on Twitter, April 2, 2019, “Opposing the Equality Act is Julia Beck, a former lesbian activist if the bill becomes law “every right that women have fought for will cease to exist.”
