Once again, in the Seattle Times, we’re treated to the nauseating spectacle of a comfortably employed, middle class woman, giving away the rights and privacy of other women and girls, seemingly without a thought for anything besides how many men are going to praise her as an ally:

New York Democrats have decided to insult women by pretending in public that state committee member Emilia Decaudin is literally female, and, last month, on October 15th, by supporting his efforts to reduce women’s representation in the state party’s positions.

Below is a letter that WoLF has sent to the board of directors of the Hennepin County Public Library, which sets policy for the public libraries in the Minneapolis metropolitan area. We think it’s important that libraries hear a feminist perspective on why Drag Queen Story Hour events are inappropriate for children and teens, and we encourage you to download this letter and use it as a model to communicate these objections to your local library board.

A new movie about female genital mutilation (FGM) is making the festival circuit. “A Girl from Mogadishu” traces the journey of Ifrah Ahmed, an Irish and Somali activist, from her days as a refugee fleeing war-torn Somalia to the present. 

Earlier this month, in DC, when some of us were there to speak at the rally for the Harris case, a number of us got to meet again with mothers of children whose health has been stolen by the irresponsible medical transition of young people.

The Washington Blade has reported that Councilman Charles Allen, chair of the D.C. Council Judiciary Committee, will not continue pushing the bill to decriminalize pimping and sex-buying–for now. WoLF members, residents of D.C. and the surrounding region, and other women’s groups across the country are prepared to mobilize again if the bill is reintroduced.

Some of us have been around long enough to remember when all radical feminists, even ones who really disliked each other, were horrified by articles like this one, where a male gang member who raped and murdered a little black girl was invited by a women’s publication to publicly comment by name on the feminism of a woman who’d pointed out the crimes he committed before he changed his name, formerly Luis Morales.

The PinkNews headline earlier this year shouted, “Powerlifter Mary Gregory, who broke world records, disqualified for being trans.”

Disastrous polling numbers came out this summer, showing decreased acceptance of “LGBTQ” people, particularly among young women, in the US. This is what many of us feared would happen due to having gender identity politics completely take over the movement for tolerance of same-sex attraction.

Some radical feminists and gender critical people have been attacking WoLF in social media posts, by implying we are anti-gay/anti-lesbian because of our targeted joint efforts with some groups on the right wing of the political spectrum.

Magdalen Berns has died today, and we are heartbroken. She was so young, and her illness was so sudden and cruel. Our condolences and sympathies to all who knew and loved her. We who hurt to lose her from afar can hardly imagine what you’re going through.

Among the reasons that we don’t believe men can be feminists is because the minute they get comfortable in that social category, they become invested in pointing to the behavior of other men as the “real” sexism, but not anything in which they themselves, or their friends and allies, might have participated.

Katelyn Burns — notable for thinking rape is funny[1], insisting that men be incarcerated in women’s prisons on request, and suggesting that it might be abuse to restrict internet access to one’s own children[2] — recently contacted us for comment on a prospective Vox article.

Paige Thompson is a man who claims to identify as a woman. He also recently committed one of the largest data breaches on record, and has a history of threatening violence.

Case highlights the importance of distinguishing between sex and gender for purposes of interpreting nation’s civil rights laws and highlights First Amendment implications of compelling speech.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America has now fired a doctor, their most recent president, Dr. Leana Wen, in part because she refused to use medically inaccurate language to refer to the sex of patients who become pregnant.

Yesterday, California’s Assembly Public Safety Committee passed SB 132, a corrections bill already passed by the Senate, directing prison officials to house inmates by gender identity, rather than by sex.
