Our Commitment to Nonviolence

We live in a society that often promotes or glamorizes violence, including violent resistance to injustices and inequalities.

Radical feminists and women in general are frequently targeted with violence when they speak up for their rights. Despite the violence and hatred that are often directed toward women, all of us at WoLF are firmly committed to nonviolence. We invite you to read and share our statement of nonviolence. We have also provided a pledge of nonviolence for people who are engaging in protests or other events.

WoLF’s Commitment to Nonviolence

Women's Liberation Front is committed to nonviolence. We work within our country's legal and political system to enact change. Through education and advocacy, we equip everyday citizens with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions, strike up conversations, and voice concerns to their community and legislators. WoLF encourages critical thinking and strives to shine a light on issues that are shrouded in censorship and a global media blackout.

We denounce all violent behavior, including deliberately killing, hurting, threatening, or instilling fear into others. All WoLF members are held to the highest code of conduct because we know progress comes from treating everyone with respect, even if opinions differ. We work across the aisle and embrace a diversity of thought.

Nonviolence is a fundamental pillar of our radical feminist mission. From the beginning, radical feminists have worked to abolish power hierarchies and society-wide, male violence against women. Nonviolence does not mean avoiding conflict. Quite the contrary: it is action — direct confrontation with power — that is nonviolent. At WoLF, we take issues head-on, but act professionally and diplomatically. The truth of our feminist work speaks louder and more persuasively than any threat.
