Gender Woo: How Gender Ideology Destroyed the Credibility of the Aid Business and Betrayed Women
Excerpt from “Aid Inferno”, by Dr. Brearley
In recent years the abject cynicism of the performative gender arts has had no greater expression than the dead-eyed adherence to an ideological secular religion that rejects millennia of settled science and biological reality.
I understand rich Westerners in their protective bubbles going along with this, but development business staff should know better. What an unforgivable and cynical betrayal of the 3.2 billion women who live in the reality of sex apartheid.
According to the World Bank, globally women have less than two thirds of the rights of men, and on average, countries have less than forty percent of the systems needed for full implementation of women’s legal rights.
Due to sex-selective abortion, especially in India and China, more little girls have been aborted than all of the men who died in the wars of the 20th Century. It’s also apparent given the global trade in babies, which is far more lucrative than bananas, that humans are well aware which sex must be exploited for child trafficking and surrogacy.
If they manage to be born, little girls routinely have their genitalia hacked off—often by other women—before they reach puberty. Their vaginas are sewn up because men are terrified of the female orgasm and female pleasure. This prevents them from ever being able to have pain-free sex and heightens the risk of infection after childbirth. Girls miss out on schooling—must skip it when they have their periods or become burdened with housework.
Because of some skewed notion of modesty that only applies to women, in many countries, women are forced to wear burkas that ruin their eyesight and prevent the joy of basic communication, or they are fitted with metal lip plates that prevent them from participating in the simplest elements of being a human: smiling, laughing, eating, or kissing unencumbered.
Throughout much of the world rape and sexual torture continues to be a weapon of war against women. This most cowardly of all acts happens everywhere—no race, continent or even postcode is immune.
All this was cynically forgotten, when the development business adopted a misogynistic Western cult that declared gender a choice, not a fact of life. When I raise this issue with colleagues the men say why risk my career on a topic so unimportant compared to climate change? Every single female development professional has gone along with the lie, apart from Reem Alsalem at the United Nations, a lone voice of reason.
This has unravelled decades of funding for women, dealing a death blow to development credibility and climate science. It has exposed the truth that we are the truly sexist ones, because ‘UN Women’ now includes men.
