Feminism and its Discontents: Wolf Interview with Firsthand Media DC
Earlier this year, WoLF’s Executive Director, Dr. Mahri Irvine, had the opportunity to sit down for an in-depth discussion with Cecily Fiadh-Fernandez, a DC-area media reporter and producer. Ms. Fiadh-Fernandez is the founder of Firsthand Media DC, a website that provides original video content about politics and civil discourse.
In the interview, Dr. Irvine and Ms. Fiadh-Fernandez discussed and analyzed radical feminism, why gender ideology is harmful to women and girls, and some of the reasons that people embrace the unscientific premise that humans can change sexes. They also discussed WoLF’s lawsuit against the CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and why WoLF believes that incarcerated women should be housed in single-sex prisons and jails.
As a non-partisan organization, WoLF appreciates talking with independent journalists who value critical thinking; we were delighted to be featured in Ms. Fiadh-Fernandez’s new series, Feminism and Its Discontents. This series of interviews features a variety of feminist leaders and thinkers who disagree with components of mainstream feminist orthodoxy. The first episode features Ms. Mary Harrington, a British author, who discusses issues related to reproductive freedom and abortion. Dr. Irvine was featured in the second episode.
