While powerful law firms and deep-pocketed nonprofits put their massive resources behind the “trans rights” agenda, the rights of women forced to change, shower, and sleep in the same cell as trans-identifying male prisoners are ignored, their voices silenced. It is well past time to unstack the decks and give these women access to justice.
Today, WoLF wrote to nine of the most prestigious and powerful law firms in the world, asking them to lend their resources, legal talent, and stature to the cause of incarcerated women facing the cruel and unusual punishment of being housed with men who claim to be women—including fully intact violent felons and sex offenders. These law firms have pledged to commit, in total, nearly one billion dollars in pro bono resources to advancing causes of the administration. In our letter, we share our proposal to help them fulfill that commitment while fighting a human rights abuse happening right now, right here, in the United States of America.
